Batting Cages
At the J Batting Cages, you can work on hitting, pitching, throwing or fielding. Utilize the largest batting cage int eh area for either baseball or softball. You can receive perivate, semi-private or team training or rent the cages for your own team! Lessons are available in all areas of baseball and softball.
About our Batting Cage Coordinator,
Todd Stein: Todd is a St. Louis native and has been around baseball his entire life. After starting out in the JCC T-ball programs, he grew and played with the Ladue High School varsity team for four years. He continued on to play NCAA Division One ball at Illinois State University. At 20, he was drafted and played in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. After two season, he played with the Gateway Grizzlies in 2006.
With his playing days behind him, Todd has a new baseball career as an instructor at the JCC. It’s a way that he gives back to the game that has been so good to him. Todd is
passionate about teaching baseball and seeing his players develop – both on and
off the field.

Pitching MachinesChoose from either the Home Plate Pitching Machine or the Jugs Jr. Pitching Machine.
Home Plate MachineState-of-the-art pitching machine capable of throwing 5 different pitches from both arm slots. Programmable to fit your needs and style. Speed: 50-90 mph
Jugs Jr.Wheel-style machine suitable for individuals 10 and under. Also suitable for softball use. Speed: 25-60 mph
Cancellation Policy- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled lesson time. The lesson will be rescheduled for a later date without penalty.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be charged.
- Lessons must be paid in full prior to receiving instruction or entry into the cages.
- All clients must have an account with the JCC.
- All clients must sign a waiver and fill out the information form prior to using the cages.
Group Exercise Classes are included as part of your J membership. Members find these classes to not only be a great workout but also a support network!
