Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do as a sport and exercise is popular with people of both sexes and of many ages. Physically, Tae Kwon Do develops strength, speed, balance, flexibility, confidence, control and stamina.  

Tae Kwon Do's popularity has resulted in the divergent evolution of the martial art.  As with many other martial arts, Tae Kwon Do is a combination of combat technique, self-defense, sport, exercise, entertainment and philosophy. The art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance, using the leg's greater reach and power.  Tae kwon do training also includes a comprehensive system of hand strikes and blocks, but generally does not emphasize these techniques until the higher belt levels.

The JCC offers Tae Kwon Do to nearly all ages, including adults, with many of the classes occuring back-to-back.  Below are details for the adult offerings.
