Meet the Trainers - Wohl

Personal trainers at the JCC are all certified professionals who are available to meet your fitness and healthier lifestyle needs. Carlyn H. Wohl Building (Creve Coeur)

Craig Prindle 002.jpgCraig Prindle brings with him a wealth of knowledge as a personal trainer and also serves as the JCC Wohl Fitness Center supervisor.  Craig has been in the fitness industry for 15 years, including the past 13 as a personal trainer. Craig's credentials include NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association), Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, certified Apex Fitness Professional, Biometrics Personal Trainer and more.  Craig also has a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Athletic Training from Iowa State University and a Master's of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse.  Part of Craig's fitness philosophy is that "fitness is a journey, not a destination. If you reach your goal, you still have to put forth the effort to maintain it and that's where people fail.  If a person can commit to and embrace the process, they will have a greater chance of reaping the benefits of improved health and fitness for a lifetime." Craig enjoys working with all types of people at all levels of fitness and is available Sunday-Thursday, primarily in the mornings and early afternoons.  When he's not working at the J, Craig loves to spend time with his family and being a good role model for his kids.

Brettany Hayes 005b.jpgBrettany Hayes joined the JCC team in early 2005 and has made a significant impact to the lives of the clients she has worked with.  She has been personal training for four years and been in the industry for over six.  Brettany graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and is currently a student at Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis. She currently holds a AFAA Personal Trainer Certification, is an Apex fitness Professional and is a Registered Nurse.  For beginners, Brettany believes it is very important to have someone show them the proper technique and to remember there is something (exercise) for everyone. "You just have to keep trying new activities until you find the things you enjoy and can incorporate into your life," she says. Brettany is comfortable working with first-timers, special needs clients, older adults and pretty much anyone looking to improve their health through fitness and training. When she's not working out herself or training a client, Brettany is enjoys swimming, hiking, baking and yoga. She is generally available days and evenings, including the weekends.

Katie Hughes 004.jpgKatie Hughes has been a certified ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor since the Fall of 2006 and has worked in fitness since 2002. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Nutrition and Fitness and served as an intern with the JCC prior to joining our staff as a personal trainer. Katie believes she is a true asset for people who are struggling to reach their fitness goals. "I can customize workouts based on individual goals, abilities and lifestyles. I am a firm believer that people will benefit the most from performing fitness activites that will carry over and improve function in their daily lives."

With her background in nutrition and fitness, Katie truly has the ability to create the proper balance of cardiovascular training, resistance training, flexibility and a healthier diet for her clients. she is ready to work with all people, regardless of ability or age who are ready to make a change. She is available Tuesdays-Saturdays.

Nancy Itzkowitz 001.jpgNancy Itzkowitz received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri in Business and home Economics. She has been a personal trainer for six years, all at the J, and worked for eight years as a fitness instructor. She has certifications as an AFAA-Personal Trainer, AFAA-Group Exercise , APEX Fitness Professional, Mat Science, Spinning and specialty training through the Arthritis Foundation. Along with personal training, Nancy also teaches low impact aerobics, body shaping and flexible strength classes. She enjoys working with seniors and especially first-timers. She employs a conservative philosophy, which includes starting out slowly, learning correct posture, form and breathing and staying positive. From there, she believes if you stay focused and positive, you will succeed! Nancy teaches the correct way to accomplish exercises and places value using the proper technique which will lead to progress where people will succeed at their own level. Nancy also enjoys fitness on the tennis court and enjoys art and reading. She is available during the week in the mornings and in the afternoon/early evenings.
