2007-08 NJT Season

The JCC's New Jewish Theatre 2007-2008 season has been announced. Nominated for four Kevin Kline Awards for 2006, NJT was thrilled to have been honored with the award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Play (Donna Weinsting in From Door to Door). The New Jewish Theatre continues it's tradition of artistic and theatrical excellence, producing professional productions that examine universal themes and issues, filtered through the lens of the Jewish experience, providing entertaining and often provocative subject matter with local theatre professionals.
The 2007-2008 season reflects expanded programming to a five production season. The complete schedule is listed below.

Broadway Bound

The third play in Simon's semi-autobiographical trilogy set in the 1940's as Eugene breaks into the world of comedy as his family is falling apart.
Kindertransport by Diane Samuels
November 28 - December 16
A powerful and resonant study in dislocation, denial and the guilt of survival, experienced through one woman's journey.
Cherry Docs by David Gow
January 23 - February 10
The harrowing story of the perpetrator of a vicious hate crime and his defense by a Jewish attorney.
Bluish by Janece Shaffer
March 10 - April 6
A tender, funny and romantic play that explores the tricky balancing of love, faith and loyalty, providing a provocative cultural commentary.
The Tale of the Allergist's Wifeby Charles Busch
May 14 - June 1
An intelligently funny and satirically written story of mid-life malaise on New York's upper West Side; a modern day parable.
Attending Camp Hawthorn (now Camp Sabra) is one of my fondest childhood memories. It shaped who I am today. I learned how to get along with others, never give up, be responsible and embrace my Jewish identity. I loved it so much I vowed to send my kids someday.
