I.E. Millstone, JCC Honorary Campaign Chair
Millstone is the visionary who donated the land and became the catalyst for the planning, zoning, fundraising, and building of the JCC campus that bears his name. For more than 70 years, Millstone has been dedicated to advancing the vibrancy of the Jewish culture in St. Louis that today is embodied by the JCC. In 1947, he became the youngest person ever elected JCC board chairman (then known as president) and is the only person to hold the office twice. Millstone was president of the World Federation of Young Men's Hebrew Association (YMHA) and Jewish Community Centers Association.
A successful entrepreneur, Millstone founded Millstone Construction, Inc., which is now Millstone-Bangert – a global construction firm whose president is Thomas Kuhn, Millstone’s grandson.
