From Start Smart training and the Mac & Jeanette Brown Youth Basketball program to a new middle school league and Men's Sunday competitive league, the J prides itself on delivering some of the best hoops in the St. Louis area. There are many benefits to playing basketball; whether you're looking to get your child involved in a team sport or want to get some cardio exercise yourself, basketball can be an ideal choice, particularly when it's cold outside!

1. Exercise is the leading and most obvious benefit to playing basketball. Constant running and jumping gets the heart rate elevated, improves endurance and increases calorie burning.
2. Basketball improves coordination by strengthening and building muscles, particularly in the legs and arms as well as making one more aware of their body and placement on the floor and against the other team.
3. Socially, basketball is a great sport that allows for meaningful interaction amongst friends and peers in such a manner that cooperation and teamwork skills are developed and honed.
