Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! draws on the tradition of Rosh Hodesh (the monthly celebration of the new moon) to build self-esteem and to enrich Jewish identities of adolescent girls.  It’s a Girl Thing! is a program that brings together Jewish girls in grades 5, 6, and 7 to celebrate, to learn and to grow.  The informal setting, small group size and carefully designed activities that draw on Jewish texts and practices include: creative arts and expression, celebration of Jewish rituals, learning about “Fabulous Females” from the Jewish tradition, intimate group discussion, friendship, and food!
